Judith's first North American release, written & recorded soon after she came to the US.

'I've never been to Texas' features Larry Klein on bass -- it was due to their friendship that Judith met Julia Fordham, who would become an adored friend, supporter and musical collaborator on the next two cd's. It was also at this time that Jim Brooks became a Judith "advocate" and placed 'Hand On My Heart' in his movie, "As Good As It Gets." When Shawn Colvin heard the cd, she asked Judith to guest on her new cd, "A Few Small Repairs."

Always autobiographical, "Emotions on a Postcard" spoke of the pain of her home sickness in 'Song of An Immigrant,' as well as her love affair with New Orleans in 'Vampires and Lovers.' It also told of loves lost in 'Texas' and finally found in 'Always.'

A fan of Polly Harvey's cd images, Judith chased and found the artist responsible...Valerie Phillips, an American based in the UK. Valerie's hand-tinted photo theme was then incorporated into the cd design under the guidance of Robbie Cavalero, who had just won accolades for designing Joni Mitchel's 'Van Gogh's Daughter.'
